Thought for the day

There are two books that I WILL write someday. One of them is a thought-for-the-day type book, and the only reason I am waiting is because I need a thought for every day of the year. (Isn't it ironic that I manage to get a new blog post on this website every day, yet I can't come up with a list of 365 inspirational and/or funny one-line thoughts? Go figure.)

At any rate, I've been collecting quotes and comments that caught my eye over the past year or so, and today seemed like a good day to share. Some of these need to be printed and posted on my wall...

A happy marriage is the union of two good forgivers. - Ruth Bell Graham

A good man can make you feel sexy, strong, and able to take on the world...oh sorry...that's wine...wine does that.

It's your road, and yours alone. Others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you.

Never spend your time trying to explain who you are to people who are committed to misunderstanding you.

Another day, another dropoff workout race to work inhale lunch pickup practices dinner homework laundry bedtime finish work collapse. (OR, "be thankful for your many blessings")

You are someone's reason to smile.

No one ever told me I was pretty when I was a little girl. All little girls should be told they're pretty, even if they aren't.  ~ Marilyn Monroe

Bitterness replaces forgiveness or forgiveness erases bitterness. The two cannot coexist. ~ Charles Swindoll

You might feel worthless to one person, but you are priceless to another. Don't ever forget your value. ~ Luan

It is more important to be kind than to be right.

What are some of your favorite thoughts and quotes?

Two of my favorites: “Enjoy the little things. For one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” – Anonymous "Sometimes the poorest man leaves his children the richest inheritance."

If you want your children to talk freely about the big stuff when they are older, listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little. To them, it's always been big stuff.
