Mother's Day, part 2

by Kristen Bagwell

Looking back through some of my favorite Mother's Day things, I came across an older blog from Rachel, one of the co-founders at Triad MOM. In her introduction, she said "I thought today was a great day to post this reminder from Mother Teresa. These verses were reportedly written on her wall for children in Calcutta, India. My mother-in-law has had this on her refrigerator for as long as I can remember, and a few years ago I printed this out and hung it on mine as well."

I do realize that Mother's Day has come and gone...but in a way, isn't every day Mother's Day? I hope you all had a wonderful time yesterday, and enjoy these words from Mother Teresa this morning.

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.
Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.
Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten.
Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.
Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.

Keep an eye out for the Mom's Choice Awards finalists, to be announced later today! Voting for the winners will be open to all TMOM readers, so get ready to choose your favorites in the Triangle for 2011!
