My new favorite TV show is Long Island Medium, which airs on the TLC channel. If you haven't seen it, Long Island Medium is about a "typical Long Island mom" who happens to channel the dead. Nuts, right?

Part of the reason I like to watch the show is that Teresa, the medium, is absolutely hysterical. Her life is a zoo and I can totally relate. The medium part, though, is also quite compelling: she has what she calls spirit guides who put her in the way of people whose loved ones want to send a message to those here on earth. Isn't that a fantastic notion? It gives me comfort to think that our loved ones who have passed are still able to see and encourage us, whether we know it or not.
